Welcome to "Tularosa Basin Cousins"

This web site is about the families of the early Tularosa Basin:

La Luz, Tularosa, Tularosa Canyon and Three Rivers
And the asscociated families of Lincoln County New Mexico

Before 1880, Tularosa and La Luz were apart of Lincoln County, founded in 1869. Then they were split off and became a part of the new Doña Ana County and then in 1899 they transformed again and including Tres Rios and Mescalero Reservation became the new Otero County. By the time Otero County was formed, 30 years after the formation of Lincoln County; the complexion of the area had changed, the people had changed and the Railroad was making its way up from El Paso to Alamogordo (1898), then up to Carrizozo (1899)and beyond. For our purposes we are going to look at this area as it was tied to Lincoln County in the early years. 1863-1909

Please enjoy your visit with us; if you are a descendant or related to one of these families, or if you are just interested in the history have fun looking around.

This site is actually a part of Lincoln County Cousins with entrys that are specific marked TBC or LCC
